5 cu. ft.? are you sure? thats a pretty big box for non competition subs.
Is there a reason your vent is not as tall as the box? makes it a lot easier to construct the vent when it's the same height. Yes your right.. it's not that deep and I would be concerned with vent noise at some frequencies.
Grab yourself a copy of Bass Box Pro from HT-Audio. I've been using it for so many years now and it just doesn't fail me.
