Supercharging VR.

I am looking for a supercharger for my VR but i dont know what kinda of boost it can handle.
I want a 9psi kit but i've been told that my VR's stock internals cant handle that much because of the higher compression ratio.
How do i know if my VR has the higher compression ratio compared to the VN-VP? or do all VRs have the higher ratio?

a vr has a compression ratio of 9.0.1
a vn has a ratio of 8.5.1
whoever has told you that you wont be able to run much boost due to the high compression is spot on.... with stock internals you'll only be running 2-3psi boost or risk screwing the engine with anything higher.
if your really serious about getting a s/c and you want it to perform you might wanna think about getting the L67 s/c ecotec from a vs.

yeah mate..if its the original engine it has a 9.0.1 compression ratio.

I have friend with VR and he's running 9psi and making like 250hp ATW wheels all day long, but now hes going for a second rail of methanol injectors and some NOS as well . Should go vrrroooooooommmmmmmmmm BANG..
