There is a 2 terminal sender unit for the computer to tell it what the engine temp is.It sits behind the alternator next to the gauge sender My vps fan was coming on later and it was gradually getting worse so I replaced this sender for only about 15 bucks and now it comes on between 1/4 and 1/2 and normally sits on 1/4 while moving.I think the actual point the fan comes on isnt adjustable as the computer gives the fan relay a negative to come on when it gets to a certain temp...vs's came on later as gmh worked out this put out less emissions.
