3 litres are fine once you rectify the over boost issue. They even make full kits now to ensure it never grenades. Clean looking ride. Can't imagine it would be that gutsy being only 2.8 litres though.

its better than i was expecting, i didnt buy it to become race car though lol :)

if so how would i do it? just unwind it all and wash it off and let it dry?

Yes, I was going to make that comment. Rope needs cleaning, only downside to it.
Warm bucket of water with some soap/detergent, rinse it, let it dry, pack it away neatly.

thanks mate! it looks real dust cos i unwonund it last night and freed all the dirt haha! i might do that this arvo then :) cheers

99' Series 3 VS S-Pac Ute.
Looks like a nice clean base to start with mate. My best mate has a 4.2 TD Patrol and his old man has a white 2.8 GU like yours. Last year they did a trip through the canning stock route, one of the most remote tracks in australia. The 2.8 GU had nearly 300,000 clicks on it before they left and it did the trip without missing a beat and did everything the 4.2 did.
I have driven both and you can most definitely notice the power difference, but that being said, with a few bolt on mods the 2.8 really livens up.
Can't wait to keep an eye on this mate.

I've worked on several 2.8's with overheating issues which turned out to be heads... So keep an eye on temps.
However I like driving them, and they poo all over a n/a 4.2L.

yep just to a mates holiday house just up past hayfield (lake glenmaggie, coongulla)

thanks for the info mate, is it a common thing or just not looking after them?
it gets up to temp fine and sits on temp fine!

youve gotton me a little worried now! haha what are some symptoms that the heads ####ed? ill keep my eye on it !
