All you can do is laugh and tell your mates ;). At least there was no real damage done and nobody was injured! It's like tripping on your own feet, the sort of thing you can only laugh at ;).

In the wider scale of things, a fire extinguisher going off in the boot is a small price to pay for saving your car.

At least there wasnt any bodily harm, or panel damage from this incident. just a funny story to tell your mates :)

Be careful about fire extinguishers hey, treat it as a near miss. There's a safety memo going around at work saying about a 4.5kilo extinguisher that went off when it fell off a table in a shed, killed one woman and seriously injured one man before creating its own little opening in the side of the shed.

a bloke came into our servo once, telling my about the new auto box he had just had put in his VN, for whatever reason his "mechanic" suggested he carry a loaned fire extinguisher for a few days 'just in case' (alarm bells??? lol)

anywho cut a long story short it went off in the boot. much cleaning done! not on your own mate.

Don't believe stories like that unless you have seen proof from proper sources. There is all sorts of garbage stories going around and everyone seems to think they are true.

The OP was lucky it was only a bit of powder. Could have hit a tree.
I know a friend that was driving along a dirt road in the outback NT and hit a dust filled pot hole and rolled his car. It happens too easily.

Might wanna move it inside the cabin too.. I know it doesn't seem too impossible to stop and get it out of the boot, but if your in a hurry your in a hurry.
