I'm after a bigger throttle body for my ls1.

When getting a dyno tune i was told that the throttle body was a slight restriction at high rpm.

My question is, what throttle body will fit the ls6 manifold? Probably going to import from the states as the $ is so cheap.

I am guessing around 85mm would be suitable without going overkill.

Well my beast made 334rwkw with a stock throttle body, changed to fast 92mm and gained nothing.
Imo not worth it. Better off saving for diff gears or cam.

yeah with ls3 throttle body? it's a 90mm standard. so 2mm probably wouldn't make much of a difference for you if that's the case?

From memory i think the ls1 throttle body is 72mm? so going 85mm could prove an increase, however slight it may be, It's something that may be more evident should a cam go in.

I don't know, just looking to do what i can bolt on wise, all around..... Brakes next week hopefully.

NO the LS3 has electronic 90mm TB, i run cable so i did used my LS1 throttle body with an adaptor plate, until i could afford the Fast 92mm.
So unless you are pushing around 350rwkw with your LS1 i wouldnt bother.
Spend your money elsewhere.

Agreed, a larger throttle body on a stock manifold is a waste of money. Either get the DUS ported one, or use the $ at the big green shed and buy yourself a dremmel and do it your self.

Is the ls6 intake brad fitted for you a ported one? As thats when you start to see a gain with a larger t-body 80mm would be plenty as thats the biggest you can make the opening in the ls6 intake.
