3" would definately be way too big for a 308. Twin 2" on a stocker or maybe twin 2 1/4" if it's been worked. You should be looking at around $600 for a good twin system not including extractors. With extractors, add about $700. Which model Torana? Anything before LH you would be struggling to put a twin system on.

Unless you are planning to run 10 sec quarters then yep. You will have all sorts of hassles getting it over the diff, especially if it is a 9" (required equipment on any performance LH/X).

I had a single 2 1/2" mandrel bent system on my old SS which ran high 13's. It was neatly bent around the diff and tucked up along the rear 1/4 (not looking like a wheelbarrow handle out the back like most did at the time). Excellent power and one of the best sounds I have ever heard in a car. Pitty I crashed it

2 1/2" single would do it. If going twin, don't go any bigger than 2 1/4", even that is borderline.

My 2 1/2" Single was routed out the RHS and sounded *awesome* without being offensive. I had some good quality mufflers in there which I suppose would have helped. No idea how legal it was for noise.

For a 308, a good set of extractors into a twin 2.5inch system (make sure it has a cross over) and youll be a lot happier. In my experience singles just dont give a good note on a V8.

Twin 2 1/2" is too big...like I said before twin 2" or 2 1/4". If you plan on racing it, and keeping the revs at redline go 2 1/2", but for a drive car, too big.

A single with the right muffler will sound good, a bit smoother than a twin, a twin will give you that real V8 crackle if thats what you want.
