Hey everyone. I had look under my car and there’s a good 2l of transmission oil on the ground. It appears to be leaking from the dipstick tube. Is there supposed to be an o ring or a rubber sleeve that goes on the dipstick tube? I’ve looked it up and there’s either an o ring or a rubber sleeve that slides on the transmission tube. For a VX V6 Ecotec. Thanks guys.

They don't normally leak at the base of the tubes, that not to say they couldn't,
Has it been over filled?,
There is a procedure to check the AT fluid level.
"Never over fill them"

Clean it up, remove the bolt securing it in place, remove it, and clean the tube and insert, replace the c-ring if required,
and place a THIN film of some gasket cement on it and re-fit it.

Yeah I’m not too sure to be honest. The transmission is out of a vx Calais but the dipstick is from something else. It says on the dipstick deep pan. How can I tell if my transmission Is a deep pan or not? Thanks.

vx uses deep pan
that is stock
ummmm deep pan, every time i write that i want pizza
Ahh ok so it must have the right dipstick length then. I’m pretty sure at the moment there is no seal at all for the dipstick tube. I’ll get one sorted and hopefully that solved the issue.
