[NSW] trying to find my dads old car

hi all,
im just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction in finding my dads old car that he sold 15 years ago is there somewhere i can find details on the net to track down

what car was it? there isnt any online information regarding current owners, thats all held by the rta. good luck getting that info from them(think car thieves wanting to steal particular cars)

15 years is a long time, car could be anywhere in aus, if its even still on the road

Just a long shot,

If you can remember the registration number, you can look it up at MyRTA. This will at least tell you if it is still registered in NSW, if not the contact details.

After that, you would need to see it and try to contact the driver.

A person was tracking down their old car from 20 years ago, on another forum, I frequent....So they posted details up about it, along with old pictures......Luck would have it, it's sitting in my driveway......

So there's a good starting point....post details about the car

unless you got the VIN or Chassis number you really do have #### all of a chance of finding a car from that long ago.

Not necessarily.....My car didn't have either recorded....Even with the car being in S.A, the rego plates generally stay with the car....Mine have been changed....A few details, along with pictures go a long way as a starting point

As others mentioned, need some details at least to start from somewhere.

Forums usually the case to start as in NSW, no legal way to search for current owners details etc.

Your VX is coming up to 15 years old and thats not rotting away in a wreckers, so why would his dads be? There are thousands upon thousands of cars on the road over 30 years old! Post up some details about it mate, you never know your luck!
