Why not find 2 more 7 inch rims and put 225/15/60 all round

My mate had the 15x7 all round on his vh and then put 15x6 on the front it looks heaps better with the thinner wheel up front, each to there own but.

From factory the car came with 205/60/15.

On my old VH SLE I used to run 205/65/15 on standard VH SLE rims (15x6). Looked nice but you'll have trouble fitting the 65 series rubber in the spare wheel well.

There's a place in Sydney that has widened the original SLE rim to 8 inches or so.

All honesty, find 2 more 6 or 7 inch rims and put 225/60X15 on them, to fill the guards. Having 2 different size rims, front to rear is a cop magnet, especially if you are a younger driver. And in my opinion, it looks and drives crap with smaller rims front to rear

Find it difficult to believe fitting a 205/65X15 in the spare wheel well is difficult....I have a VC and my spare is a 15X7 with a 205/65X15 as my spare placed in the wheel well...I have no difficulties placing it in or removing it out of the wheel well

I swear it didn't fit.
Now I'm doubting myself on the size. Might have been 215 wide

Quite possible...There were varying sizes and profiles fitted over the years to standard Commodore rims....So trying to remember the exact size you had fitted would be difficult...

Fitting a 215 into the spare wheel well of an early Commodore is near impossible....The only reason I have a 205/65X15 as my spare wheel is because my 16X8's with 225/50X16 doesn't fit in the wheel well and I don't want it hitting the battery I have fitted in the boot..:)
