VC, I thought you used a screw gun not a rattle gun. That was why i was surprised to hear that a screw rattle gun could undo crown wheel bolts. AFAIK the OP wants to use a screw gun on wheel nuts. I was usung a rattler today repairing a fence and while it drove in zips throgh C section and into a hardwood post, i doubt it would have enough power to undo wheel nuts.

A couple of the Impact drivers on the market have around 160Nm so in theory could undo some wheel nuts. But in theory my supercheap rattler has heaps more than that but can't take a single wheel but off my VE.....

The break torque can be a fair bit higher than the original fastening torque.

Go grab yourself a torque wrench, its amazing just how little effort you need to undo and re-torque the wheel nuts.
I have 2 of Mechpro ones, one for the boot of the car set to 110nm and fitted with the extension and socket and one for the workshop.

I bought one of these recently...

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Uni...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Paid $78 as per their current pricing.

I never intended to use it to break the nut to start with, just for the unwinding and winding back on of the nuts.

I use a 4wd cross bar to back the nuts off before jacking the car up, then the impact wrench once it's up to get the nuts off and loosely tigthen them again, before dropping the car off the jack/stands and using a torque wrench to torque them up properly.

To save any damage to the wheel nuts on the tips (my VF has enclosed chrome nuts), I inserted a rubber washer from a garden hose adaptor into the 22mm socket and therefore it has a soft seat for the nut tips to sit against.

One of the best purchases I have made in tools to save time and effort.
