Here is another BS we have cropping up. Some gal asking to boycot the Oscars because of not enough or no ethnic diversity. However, the host of the event is known for his harsh racial comments/comedy that is ok, his ethniticy allows him to.

This crap gets worse when is during elections and is pretty much every year canpaing time. The current pressie is notrious for vacations, golf playing and campaigning. Now that he is on his last term, was camapaigning for the party.

The two term limit has a LOT to do with the political problems in America... Get rid of them! Give good government the ability to spend a decent amount of time to work towards solutions to the BIG problems. Rather than the pandering and vote buying policies they typically have.

We had a good government here when John Howard was PM. The country was in pretty good shape, then Rudd happened.....having a good government in place isn't always the answer, the public are a fickle lot, we get complacent and think what if the other side is better, time for a change.

It's human nature to hate what is different and blame them for your problems. We all know the history of blacks in the US, but I think the racial hatred is also perpetuated in their behavior somewhat. It's a catch 22, if a black person makes enough noise about peace and equality and loving your fellow man, he is seen as weak by his race and killed in a drive by, if he stands up and fights for it, he is shot by a white policeman.

Whilst I agree that 127 shots fired is obscene, you as someone who was in law enforcement will know that when you draw your gun, youre instructed that you must be prepared to kill. You must not shoot to maim or injure. When a shooting happens in this country, a lot of people say "Why didnt you just shoot once" "Why did all 4 officers need to fire".

When several shots, from several officers are fired, this indicates that the situation warranted such action and is much easier to defend to whoever they report to following a shooting.

The Media in the US, love to drum up this sort of fear. This fear, as highlighted by the racial implications, drives the public to hate the police and the police to become more fearful whilst on general duties. Youve got police on a hair trigger over there. The public torn. Its going to erupt.

The US gun issue is never going to be solved when their media is so dependent on fear and violence.

I was never a police officer. I worked alongside them in an administrative role only, but when shootings took place in NSW, particularly those with fatal results, we discussed the actions of police and why they didn't "shoot to maim". The main pressure on the police officer is the preservation of life of innocents and this obviously places the onus on them to ensure that their aim is as accurate and telling as it can be.

I sure don't have any issue with the fact that police killed the two occupants of the car on this occasion, but 127 shots is roughly 30 per officer. That means how many reloads per weapon? I can understand them each emptying their magazines ONCE but to reload time and time again?:

The US gun issue is never going to be solved when their media is so dependent on fear and violence.

Why do we Aussies give a rats about this ? our rules suit our country.

America is a completely different beast.

The more you understand about their structure , the more you understand why they need to be armed.

Plus the nra seem to like to drag us into the conversation and that'll only get us hated.

My only wish is that the nutters who cut loose with an AR, would take on someone who can shoot back,

instead of shooting innocents try taking on some bikies, gangbangers or the mob.
