VE 2009 SSV 6.0 L76 Oil Sump Capacity

I'm Going to do an oil change next week on my ute,how many litres of oil do I need including a filter change.The cars manual is not much help.Also cab anyone reccommend a good quality oil.

Manual says 7.3L or something like that.

As for oil type, it's totally dictated by your budget. I think 5-30 is what they recommend. Some people put 0-40 in. $80-$100 per 5L. Mobile, Castrol Edge , Royal Purple. Etc etc

Filter is up to you and again depends on budget. Ryco, Drift, deco, $10-$35

7.6L is what they say, Filter holds a bit so might get to 8L.

From 4 and a half years of servicing ve's, pretty sure they take between 8.1 - 8.2 litres (on the oil gun readout)

I'm just going off the manual, if you service them, I don't doubt you at all. Strange they would say one thing and do another.

I did mine last week. 8.3 litres. That's what the handbook says too

Pretty sure the L98's held a touch over 8Ltr's but the L76 only held mid 7. Not uncommon for the Holden factory trained technician (apprentice) to over fill an L76 by nearly a ltr
