Hi.
Can anyone tell me if th LLT SV6 engine has a MAP sensor (or only a MAF) and if so where is it located.
I know if it has one it should be on the intake manifold somwhere but i cannot find it.

Thanks

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
MAP sensor is located externally on the back of the intake. It is used to gather external air pressure as part of the data used for fueling.

MAP sensor is at the rear left hand side of the engine.

Right at the back up under the plastic ledge where the wipers are but down on the motor.
Did you think they would put it in clear view and make it easy to replace.

Thanks for the replies and pics - uglyoldfatbastard is a user name i could use !

Anyhow - the reason i ask is this. VE is running a bit off lately - sluggish etc. So using Torque pro i did some checks.
Now i also have a VF 6 litre (different i know) but compared some readings and found something strange with the intake readings on the VE.
The VF reads as follows:

Ignition on and not running - 14.4psi (atmospheric)
Engine running at idle - 4.5psi
Approx 1200 rpm - 3.3psi

This shows an expected change in vaccuum

The VE reads as follows:

Ignition on and not running - 14.2psi (atmospheric)
Engine running at idle - 14.2psi
Approx 1200 rpm - 14.2psi

This shows no change and is completely static - noting that i would expect a zero reading if Torque Pro was getting NO data from the VE.

I connected to the VF just to test and compare.

Any thoughts ?

And after all that - how the hell do i get to the sensor ?
Pull off wipers, plastics etc ?

Thanks again.
