VE Series II Holden IQ Volume Knob Dodgy

Could the aircon be the same all of sudden got no cold air just cool. (Just praying lol)
This morning I will try turning on/off and move knob slowing.
Can the On/off button (snowflake) play up also?
I`ll check if the compressor and fans come on also.

Was rubbing on another pipe and put a hole in it.
Miss alignment I was told.

Dayvo has the right idea. Pulling lightly outwards while turning helps.

The issue is a contact program I believe. The actual component that spins fails internally.
Honestly, I think 80% of VE's I see have this issue. Yes.. it is that common.

Occurs from overuse of the dial. Or someone pressing the button way to hard.

I have the same issue which is very intermittent/unpredictable and definitely not caused by over use of the dial (very much under used in my case with a very low KM car) or abuse (definitely not me) . My station tuning dial also plays up at times, again very intermittent, and will go back stations when your are moving it to go forward. Not over use or abuse either.
Eventually the problems always correct themselves within a minute so I would not waste time going to a dealer to get them to fix it and run the risk of them damaging the car even though the car is still in factory warranty.

If anything the problem is caused by poor quality sub standard product in the first place like the reverse camera system that also fails to work intermittently for no apparent reason. But these are just minor irritants that we can live with in an ultra reliable vehicle that has not had a single issue since new.

i have the same issue with my volume controls. it like you battle with the controller. another genuine VE electrical problem

I fixed my dodgy volume knob by pulling it out and then spraying the dial with an Electronic contact cleaner. Did the trick.

How does it pull off? I have the same issue here and would like to give the cleaning option a try.
