G’day, I have a 2006 series 1 ve ss sedan, L98 & 6 speed auto, and I’m experiencing some issues which all started at once, and are constantly there.

When I start the car, 3-4 seconds later the a/c comes on almost full fan speed. But nothing is physically turned on. Centre radio facia doesn’t light up, radio doesn’t work, hazard light switch doesn’t work and SIC display doesn’t work. No warnings or check engine light faults are coming up on cluster.

Engine has a vcm otr maf-less 2 bar tune.
I have a tech 2 scan tool and performed a diagnostic scan. It came up with;
1 engine fault,
P0102 Mass Air Flow sensor voltage low. (Weird I have a maf-less tune.)
A few HVAC faults (see pictures) saying the motors received too few pulses.
But when I perform an individual test on each actuator, they open and close nicely 0-100%.

Tech 2 does not see the audio system, says it’s not there.

By using tech 2 I have got SIC working by changing it to sports mode, oil pressure and voltage gauges. But if I put it back to standard, I get nothing at all, no date or time.

What I’ve tried so far,
Leaving battery disconnected overnight, clearing faults with tech 2, checking all engine bay fuses, pulling radio fuse out from above the battery overnight, replacing the battery, replacing hvac module with a like for like matching single zone. Pulling centre facia off and fitting it back on ensuring all 4 clips were seated correctly, Talking to her nicely!!! None of these have worked.

When I perform a diagnostic scan on ebcm it comes up with no dtc faults, when I perform a hvac diagnostic scan no dtc faults are found… I can use tech 2 to actuate blower fan, and actuate hvac doors no problems at all.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I think that's your problem, the head unit has failed, and the HVAC system has gone to its default settings.
This happened to my S2 Redline when the IQ failed.
Not sure about the S1's, if the Entertaiment unit also contains the CAN bus network 'router'.

Wait and see what other members recommend.

I can’t right now. It’s packed in a box in the garage.
I’ll get a photo tomorrow.

6 stacker as well. Dual zone. Screen is tip top. We removed it doing a S2 swap.

All good, I’d be after the same as what I already have, single zone and screenless. Thanks for the offer though

Looking at a series 1 head unit here they also have a fuse under the power/speaker plug. I have never seen one blow but there is always a first time for everything. It's white for reference and not sure of amps as have not got my magnifying glass or phone here with me.

A much younger person just looked and said 25A

G’day, I’ve checked the white blade fuse in behind the radio plug with a multimeter, it’s all good.
Thanks for sharing the information on fuse, I had no idea there was one there. Cheers!
