VE V8 Calais & VP355
Hi All, I have an issue with my VE V8 Calais 07 6L80E model. At about after 30 mins of driving, coming to a stop or slowing down, as it down shifts, it will show abs fault and traction control off and a check engine light. Then will go into a safe mode and stay and hold 2nd gear. Its been scanned, not sure on the code. Have changed the valve body, tcm and battery.
Thinking of changing the abs pump and all sensors and wiring. I will get it re scanned this week.
Has anyone come across this issue before??
Thanks inadvanced!

20in supersports. Stock I guess. Owner before had these wheels and tyres on the car. I've owned it for about 5 years. No issues until recent.

Could be the rear wheel speed sensor it’s a common issue on ve’s and will throw an abs code and check engine light but as above you really need to know what codes are coming up otherwise your just spending money replacing parts that may or may not fix the actual problem

Hmm,
VE 10 > 15 Years old,
Possibly 180,000 > 240,000 K/m's
I am tipping the Alternator is dying,
causing under voltage of the systems and shutting down.

Ve SS wagon
Hi guys, just wondering if we have any resolution to this?. I have a VE SS wagon that’s doing the exact same thing. After about 45 minutes it has the same fault. I have unclipped the trans harness and pinned it all back to the ecu-abs-bcm. It all seems ok. The earths yadda yadda are good too. I will put a bit of load on the power supplies for the tcm incase they are breaking down. I’m steering towards a shitty alternator. I will need to maybe go into engineering mode when it fails. It makes sense that it happens at a similar time interval if the alternator was getting hot and failing. I don’t want to throw parts at it if I can avoid it.

Any replies will be greatly appreciated.

Common for older calcium batteries that are on the way out to give these kinds of issues on VEs/VFs too, they seem to be pretty sensitive. If you replace it, make sure you replace it with a calcium battery.

If it's the alternator you should be able to test with a multimeter.
