Hey buddy, it's a really easy mistake to make. I've done it myself too many times. When you put the dash back together, you forgot to plug the hazards back in!

Interesting to note, I started this thread a long time ago.... I STILL refer back to it at least once a week to confirm the colours when I do a headunit myself.

So I'm looking at the speaker wires rear right of my vz Sv8 and i have brown/black yellow/green.

Those colours aren't listed in the OP....

Ok, so I've looked at all the wire colour descriptions on so many pages, in so many manuals and still nothing is telling me what I need to know.

Here is a list of the wires that exist in my Doom-wagon:
(I know which are the speaker wires, it's the other ones that are evading my understanding)

01 light green
02 dark green
03 green/black
04 orange/black
05 brown/white
06 yellow
07 yellow/black
08 yellow/green
09 tan
10 blue/black
11 blue/red
12 grey
13 grey
14 black/white

It'd be easier if the previous owner hadn't ripped out whichever harness/adapter was in there last... I just have a bundle of loose wire ends.

Thoughts People?

I am going to be doing a speaker and hu upgrade in my vy2 Calais soon as I can not play CDs anymore and with the research I have done it is going to be much better if you want to put the factory unit back in at a cost of 150 dollars with getting the steering wheel adapter and a universal ISO adapter and also the patch lead for the headunit however the headunit needs to be steering wheel control compatible but you can just get away without the patch lead so in essence it my cost a litte bit more but not only can you save money on a auto electrician but you also can get the confidence of doing it yourself and it is safer to do it this way than cutting and electrical taping the connection or even using electrical connections
