Was a VN Executive 5.0, but now a Ford Laser Auto.
I currently have a VN cop-spec V8 executive with all the cop bits, e.g. 2km/h increments on the speedo, no centre console holder cover, etc etc.

Now my question is if this makes the car worth any more than any other VN? Other than the NSW Police Force, our family has been the only owner, and it's actually in pretty good condition for 20 years old and 320,000kms and never thrashed. Seriously.

Anyways opinions? Want to post in the trading section, but I can't. Blah.

NO, it doesn't. If anything it would make it less desirable, personally i'd hate to own an ex cop car, likewise an ex rental car.

OKAY, lol. Totally understand that, just wasn't sure if there was some mysterious demand for ex-cop cars. Ah wells.

Also think that no matter what 2nd hand car you get, you never know what's been done to it. ;-)

Yeah, but ex cops and ex rentals have DEFINITELY been thrashed. Rules don't apply, or speed bumps as we found out in the work van.

The is a higher calling for yellow VL BT1s, but other than that, your **** outa luck.

The fact is they allways sell for more than a public owned car :). Police Blue South Australian cars and the Yellow VIC highway cars are worth more again

Along these lines, how much is a VN 5litre worth?

Mine has done:
320k's
Dual fuel
Auto (obviously)
$3k spent in the last year on just keeping it going
Lots of new stuff on it
No silly wanky mods
15" VN SS rims, put on in 1991
Sports exhaust, done by daddy in 2001

Yeahp.

2500ish for an Exec, Maybe 3000 if someone really wants the ex cop thing. Definatly under 3500 tho, is it blue? (ah sorry I see it's NSW)

In SA, you'd be lucky to get 2k. K's are way too high to ask anything more (i got a Manual V8 VP (160,000k's) with EVERYthing electric for 4500 [from vic tho])
