While firing the parts cannon Id change the coil all thou every time I've actually done that on a v8 commodore I've ended up changing the distributor and the modale on the strut tower
Coil and module changed and i starting to think the dissy is next.
The Ignition Control Module in my old VS caused intermittent issues. Wiggling the plug connector on the module itself would make it run or not.

Replaced it with one of these - http://www.injectronics.com.au/catalogue/view/ignition-modules/452 from Repco on exchange basis which worked fine.
It starts goes for 10secs then stalls everytime. Have replaced module with one of those upgraded ones (burnout modules) off a bloke in Sydney. Have even taken that one out and put a standard one back in and still does the same thing

Recommend you look closely at wiring loom and connections . A poor connection or high resistance could cause such a condition . A wire can carry voltage which cam be read easliy with a volt meter but current flow is what most don't check poor connection or thinning wire will restrict current flow and when warmed up can fail . Once cooled down will work again till it reaches temp and fails again
Check connector pins for sizing and position also for pins backing out when connected.

If the car was preforming ok before your trek to the drag strip, has the muffler failed internally or did you run over something that flattened the exhaust, get under & have a look. Or get someone to start the car & from the back of the car listen to the exhaust to its note is it hissing like a massive restriction??? 5 mins easy step!

Also fuel pressure & flow are 2 different things, you can have pressure but without flow the engine will not continue to run. If you have access to a fuel flow gauge its again a 5 min check to rule out the fuel supply system..
