Difference between K&N panel and POD =

Panel flows like 460 CFM or so
POD flows 650ish CFM
SO the pod flows more but that can suck in the hot air too so gotta be 100% shielded

who cares about intake temps... thats what intercoolers are for :p

thats a fairly irresponsible comment. firstly you would only use a intercooler for FI setup so intake temps do matter on n/a applications. secondly, no IC setup is 100% efficient unless you have one with a ice cooler in the boot so starting with a nice cool air source will also benefit a FI engine

im another one with inclosed pod and 4inch ducting from front bar works great .sometimes run a performance panel filter in the old box with the ducting tightly fitted into the bottom and ive rivited a flap of rubber over the old snorkel hole so it doesnt presurise when going fast but sucks against the hole and stops hot air entering when going slow.the reason i put the flap on was to stop any hot air getting in and because the pressure from driving made tuning the thing for WOT hopeless

IMO its best but of course not practical to run no filter at all, lol its scary to think without a filter and with some serious bad luck you could have an object almost the size of a tennis ball go up your pipe through the airbox straight into the throttle body lol
