vr commodore will not start!!

hey i brought commodore cheap for project .. it would start for like 2 seconds then die.. we banged the fuel tank it started up n ran fine.. got it home tryed to take it off trailer now it wont start.. fuel pump sounds ok when i turn the key on .. took spark plug out n put it in the lead n put it against the body and got no spark can someone please help .. thanks you :bang::bang::bang::ranting::supersad::unsure:

what sort or engine is it? could be distributor, ignition mudule or the computer

the series 2 ecoteck. the guy i got it off told me they put the series 2 engine in it

i got 1 flash break 2 flash long break.. so 12.. meaning all is fine :(

The ecotec motor have no distributor.
If there is no spark it can be either the coils,DFI module,CAS,EFI relay

i read on another post about a v6 commodore not startin guy said he cleaned terminals n it started fine

I am guessing you are talking about the DFI module plug. If so give it a go and see what happens. Other wise what i said before.

did you wait for it to flash 3 times, alot of people forget this. if its not starting it should have logged an error. have ou disconnected the battery recently? If it worked for them it may work for you. check battery and electrical connections are tight and then try replacing the DFI module.
