VS 5 litre won’t start

My 5 litres always cooled starter motors until I put hot start relay and thicker new trigger wire. Yes I know there's already a relay for starter.

Used to do it to me all the time at servos. If it happens and you can pour water on the starter and it works it's voltage drop from a stinking hot solenoid. Especially common with headers.

Might be time for the old favourites in decreasing level of effort/cost- Hall Effect Sensor in the distributor, ignition coil, ignition module.
