vs commodore cruse control.

Gday umm just wondering if anyone could help me out...
Okay so I have a 1999 vs commodore ute, iv had it about a year and iv never had the cruse working... just trying to figure out why..
Ok so when I push the on/off switch nothing happens but when I push the set button a orange light comes on displaying "on" but wont hold my speed... and also soon a I press the break the light goes out like it should...

Any thoughts?

If it's working "electrically" (by the way you decsribe it) then maybe it's a dodgy cruise module. Also, is the cable connected from module to throttle body?

What sort of cluster do you have?

I have an S pack vs ute also and have a level 3 cluster that's not 100% wired up and when I turn on my cruise the green light comes on, and when i press set the orange light stays on for as long as i hold the button down but doesn't engage cruise control. From what I can gather the Level 3 cluster doesn't wire in the same as the standard level 2 cluster.
