vs steering wheel controls

hey there im looking into fitting some statesman steering wheel controls in to my vs commodore, i know a place that can make them infra red to suit an up market deck, but i just need to know what is needed to be done to get steering wheel audio controls in to my car. any help or idea would be wonderful.
