but can anyone tell me how to change the rear springs in a live axle vs, i think i have it figured out but if someone has done it an can tell me how would be much aprechiated.

Would anyone be able to tell me, which way the cup washers sit either side of the strut mounting. I have looked at the dissected strut picture attached to this article but cant make out which way the cup faces. Any help appreciated.

The cup faces up.

The first cup washer you put on faces down and the last one you put on faces up.
