VS wont drop into drive

i stuffed my engine the other day and got it replaced now my check engine light is on and i can only drive the car with 1 2 3 and when i put into drive it doesnt change, i did the lil paper clip trick and i got error 12 which everything is apparently okay, can someone plz help??

Just remember it will flash 'code 12' 3 times then show up the codes after (that is if it has any)....
I just want to make sure. I know a few people who think once they seen the first flashes of 12, they think no codes and turn ignition off.

Your shifter linkages might also need a bit of adjustment.

ok well the other day i got a bunch of errors but one popped out to me, 1-2 gear solenoids could this be the problem why i cant shift from 1 - 2. Atm i can shift from 1 to 3 and 1 -2 doesnt engage and neither does drive, could this be the issue??

Yep their is your problem.... 1-2 Solenoid will need to be replaced

Replace the other solenoid while you are there. They seem to stuff up around the same time and you're there anyways
