So I’ve had this vt v6 for 2 weeks now the key was not working this morning to remote to unlock the car. So thought I would change the battery as was in a rush and put a 10v battery in instead of a 3v and obviously it didn’t work so went back to the car to have a look at the key hole to find out it had a snapped key in it so drilled that out and got the door open but now the car starts then dies straight away I also noticed there was alfoil behind the little metal bits on the ignition.

assuming your car has the original bcm
get a new key remote programmed to the security number
you probably fried the remote
and once you have it working get a spare
or if unsure on bcm
being a VT you may be able to use the MAP system from repco
