VU seat issues

I have a VU SS, and at 6' 6" tall I find the seat does not go back as far as I would like.

Can I remove the plastic back from the seat without causing issues? Or just take to the rear 'wall' with a rubber mallet

I know this doesn't really help and not cheap or simple but I've always wanted to drop that rear wall plum to create more space behind seats on earlier utes like ve/vf or au onwards falcon .
I know on vr/vs it would interfere with tank and panel can't remember on vu.
Would be pretty cool custom depends on how long you plan to keep and how much money you have/want to throw at it.
