VU tailgate badge pins don't match tailgate holes?

I purchased a VU lion tailgate badge from eBay but when I went to fit it I noticed one of the pins are a different shape and won't fit:

Is there anything I can do to make it fit, like removing the one pin that won't fit?

cut one pin off and use silastic to mount it
thats the problem with crap from ebay

Or you could use a file to shape it to fit the hole.
