Hey guys, hope you can shed some light on this issue...

Factory Dual Fuel 01 Series II VX Calais, on the last two nights at pretty much the same time, the car has stalled with the battery light coming on. Both times I was running on LPG and I was approaching a roundabout so I had my foot off the acelerator and was drifting towards it then it cut out. The first time it took me a few go's and I got her going on petrol, the second time I was going down a hill so I threw her in Neutral and on Petrol and restarted it.

Does anyone know whats causing these LPG issues, also the car refuses to start on LPG sometimes.

Are these issues for a standard mechanic or do I need to see an LPG specialist? Thanks dudes.... ;)

Havnt had a LPG car for a few years now .. but remember having simliar problems with my old VL on Gas .. twice actually, both different causes

first and easiest was a stuck valve on the tank .. turns out it was related to the metering .. basically, the car thought it still had fuel, but it was actually out .. If you've ever ran it right out of fuel, is it similar to that in behaviour?

Other time was the converter freezing up .. turned out to be low on radiator coolant, which is what warms the converter to stop it freezing.. Topped that up, and all was well :)

out of curiosity, how does this engine handle on LPG? I know the VL wasn't overly a fan of it .. apparntly it wasnt really possible to tune it well to run on BOTH fuels .. you could make it run well as a dedicated LPG engine, but then itd be horrible on petrol ..

Is this engine better in that way? I'd guess because of its much more advanced engine management it could be better tuned both ways?

Do you notice much performance difference between both fuels?
