Hey hey,

I have stock 15" rims on my new VX wagon.
Seriously, they look like grandma wheels
Really harms the aesthetics lol

Im looking around for 17" or 18" rims
BUT
i dont want my speedo to get fucked up (too much)
My tyres for the stocks are P205/65R15,

Now what tyre profiling should I get for 17" and also 18" rims? (Both so i have the info handy)
For both a perfect speedo match, and maybe closest without ******* it too much.
(Even better, explain to me what I need to match the stocks)
Would love some help coz I really cant seem to find an answer with this profiling stuff,

Thanks thanks thanks guys!

This website should help calculate optimum sizes: https://www.willtheyfit.com/

You could expect 18 inch rims with P235/40/R18 will be a close match. Speedo error: 0.36%.

Edit: P235/45/R17 if you want 17's. Speedo error: 0.65%

Good on ya man!
Funny the 18s have less error than the 17s.
I guess thats to do with whats available for each size tyre in regards to the diameter?
I guess half a km (at 80km/h) isnt too much of a **** up

Ledg!

What is rim width and offset?

I just used 8 inch width as per most Holden 17 and 18 inch rims to fit a VX. Offset is not relevant to diameter but for an 8 inch Holden rim an offset of 48 is common.

When I went to 16'' from 15'' I used me iphone GPS speed app and the thingy on the dash to set the speedo to the correct speed.
Have you considered these 16'' rims off a WH Statesman.

The speedo cal can be adjusted to any of the available factory combinations at the time of manufacture with a Tech 2 scanner or similar after-market as used by a lot of independents. If going 17 get 235/45/17 rubber and then have someone with a scanner change the PPK setting. Alternatively if going crazy on wheels just determine the PPK of your new combo and set to the closest PPK. Honestly though 17s are more than enough for a VX and avoiding 18s will mean you can buy better rubber cheaper.
