VX Tappet adjustment

I've been doing 1600klms and pulling a 7 x 4 trailer most weekends for the last 4 weeks and today when I started the old beast I noticed she has a tappet noise for the first 5 seconds.
Can the tappets be adjusted on the V6 VX or do they need replacing.

No adjustment.
They are hydraulic.
You could try a lifter treatment.

It's not a major problem, as above try a treatment which I doubt will work, if it really annoys you try a flush and thicker weight oil.

No problems and I've noticed it comes and goes. Still acheiving great fuel consumption and the performance is still amazing, go the VX.

If you remove your rocker covers you will probably notice that some of the rockers will have a burnt appearance.Don't use a heavier grade oil.Change your oil more frequently,especially for the next few services,and use an engine flush and then a top quality oil (perhaps 10w40).You're obviously not getting enough top end lubrication so that bit of a rattle on start up is a nice friendly warning from your engine to you saying fix this or one day I'll break something.
