VY Tremec 5th gear shimmer

Over the last 12 months, the VY Gen 3 6 speed manual has developed an shimmer in 5th gear, more noticeable when under load. I would describe the shimmer (or vibration) worse to the point where it can be felt throughout the body.... other times it fine. I have changed oil and refilled with Dextron 3 but no change.

Any suggestions what it could be.... something simple or is 5th gear kaput?

my mate is chasing the exact same thing in his ba xr8 with the tremec 6 speed, only just started and he has even tried changing to a differant oil but its still there, he was hoping its not the box so had the tailshaft rebalanced, alll wheels balanced, and wheel alignment but still there.

Looks like it could only be the gearbox; replacing or rebuilt maybe the only cure.
