Has different cam sensors early reads 2 Hall positions in each sensor and late reads 1 if you unplug the cam sensors it will run won't even start with them plugged in. Mine has a late model tune on the ecu and early vz engine it's currently running without the sensors till I get round to reflash ING the ecu

Just occured to me. The Mother fken neutral safety switch.

This had been playing up in the years leading up to this. infrequent starting problems in N and not Park, and park and not neutral.
Maybe with the car sitting for so long, it was all that took to finish it off?

It's certainly a easy solution to what seems to be a complex problem.

hmmmm

All fuses check out.
All relays seem to be functional. (have been able to swap across from my car)

Swapped the computers to known functional ones.
It's from a wagon, which worked well in the crewman (other than fuel accuracy).

Car cranked. No dash issues.
However couldn't hear the fuel pump.
No fan in the car.

So that might come down to the computer being from a wagon?
Don't see how the ECU would differ though.

Anyway, looks like a trip to the mechanic.

Going to lay money on faulty ECU.
Same problem as mine and new ecu programmed in will not turn over on key at all can only get to turn over by relay car stopped had towed home already spent 4 weeks looking for faults in wiring checked every 1 and still will not start no fire so fuel issue but have fuel pressure where to next?
Ecu has to be problem who can help me here. 1001 code still in system

sounds like your "new ecu" is not new
or was mis-diagnosed from the start
more info required
if you bridge the starter relay, does the car start and run
do you have very low fuel message on dash

Have just check fuel pressure pump doesn't prime motor but pressure is their so should fire but not getting delivered to cylinders will not turn over with key only with relay and doesn't start immobiliser has turned off. ECM must be faulty. Any advise what to check next would be appreciated

your posts need a bit more punctuation
how did you check fuel pressure?
have you checked injector pulse
do you have 12v to the injectors
do you have 12v to the ign coils
have you measured output from ecu to start relay
have you checked park/neutral switch circuit
how do you know immobilizer has turned off

Was driving car as normal pulled up waiting for a park partner got out passenger door front reversed back 10 foot put back into drive started moving forward and car stopped checked most of wiring their then got towed home.
Next day put my scan tool onto car and it took quite a long time to get anything out of it when I did it came up bus error.
Was not convinced it was a bus error so asked my brother what would caused this to happen and he said It just happens he is a technical genius Travelled the world to train people how to use and set up programing and coding however he is in another state so can only ask him when he has time.
My next thing would be inhibitor switch but that should not stop fuel getting up to cylinders. Other than that I'm stumped. So I put a second ECM in now a second hand 1 had it programmed sill comes up after coding bus 1001 error and fired after putting fuel through intake relay ignition doesn't turn motor over still don't understand why ignition don't turn over after coding both times could it be because it was a police car or will it be able to work after it starts on relay properly. That is what I've heard.

0001 High speed CAN communication Bus error TCM communication Bus error 0100 still in car computer does that mean there is still a problem as it will remove from dash when fixed or do you need a tech 2 tool to remove it

It’s because the fault does not lay with the BCM.

Unfortunately from here forward, diagnosing the fault is a shinto load more that touching a multimeter on a few pins.

I’ve learned a lot from faults like this and in every case when I look at examples of people who actually do this stuff for a job, people like us in driveways do not have the skills to just sort it.

For 25years cars have been complex computer networks

It’s going to require specialised tools. Suitable bidirectional scan tool, Back probing circuits and looking at wave form data on an oscilloscope to begin to nail down the problem.

On another note, if you are happy to throw parts at it, Id be looking at the PIM which acts as the interface between the various modules and languages they each speak.
