My car has the Alloytec 175 with a manual box. I see much more modification potential in the 210kw direct injected 3.6L SIDI in the VE. Is it possible to swap the SIDI engine into a VZ engine bay? I understand the engines are basically the same apart from the heads and fuel system, but I don't really like the VE body shape and interior.

Thanks,
Tom.

Got any future plans for the v6 mate?
or did you just wanna swap and leave it at that...
cus it mite be more worthwhile swapping to a v8??
considering its going to cost a pretty penny anyway...

Planning to run the 175 into the ground or when the timing chains snap. So that when I'm off my Ps I can throw a SIDI in and work the living hell out of it. At least that's the plan.

Honestly, I love the V8s. But I want to do something different to all the other ute owners. Instead of having a big, lumpy 8 which sounds nice and deep, I want a worked, fast revving, supercharged 6 to be different. I'm sure it will cost heaps more than simply dropping a big 8 in, but I want the car to be noticed for being different.

But seriously, will a VE SIDI 3.6L drop in to replace the standard motor? With the same gearbox and mounts?

Yes anything that isn't factory in that model, as it's classified as a engine modification and needs a mod plate
It's only for p-platers in victoria.. Dunno about other states
