VZ V6 pcv valve squealing

Hi all,

I have recently cleaned my pcv valve in my alloytec and i now have a squealing noise if i remove the hose from the intake manifold it stops if i put my finger over the hose it starts again and if the engine is above about 2k rpm it also stops. Is the pcv hose supposed to have suction as i thought it was supposed to vent from the rocker cover it has suction .Any assistance would be appreciated .

Hi,

Yes i did the drill out soaked in carby cleaner then blown out with compressed air also sprayed the pcv hose and blew it out with compressed air too

Remove it again, put red thread sealant around the base and reinstall it.

It might have gone out of round depending on how you removed it. Could have been a bit heavy handed.

It will be a small leak between the cover and the PCV.

Get it smoke tested to see if you have any vac leaks, which could possibly cause the noise/whistling.
