$900 sounds fair. Its a lot of labour to pull the heads. At least you know it'l be bullet proof after. Might as well have the heads serviced while your at it, that'll give you a good performance increase.

Does getting the heads ported make a difference and what else would i have to change on the motor after getting it ported or does porting not need any other mods done?I will get the heads surfaced as well as ported i think.

I kind of thought about it and if i do the work i can be sure to pay more than $900 + porting as i will no doubt stuff it up the first time.

$45each for the burrs, you will want about 6 different ones.
Head shave, vrs kit.
If you are bothering to do this then high ratio rockers larger throttle body, v8 or 70mm
improved filter and exhaust.
my method to do this would be if driving the car
fix leak
buy heads and tools
port heads in spare time while getting the rest together
panel filter
holden vs super6 cai
extractors
throttle body
rockers.

now you have the heads ported go get them surfaced and cc tested for equal combustion chamber sizes.
fit it all and wrap around tree.

The inlet manifold isnt too hard mate, I did it on mine not too long ago. If you get stuck I'm sure I can help.

I will try not to wrap around a tree,maybe sideways around a few corners etc etc. Thanks and i may need your help guys....i will try it by myself(with all your help)without the mechanics first.This site rocks for aussies wanting to help a bloke out.
