Sure it's not vu prefix?

There is cast date on block near water pump also down side of block casting that will either say 308 for early red/blue or 5.0 for black engine or asterix symbol for roller blocks(usually)

If still got efi hardware will still have stamp dates on throttle body or can look up various differences with engine looms & other parts to narrow down what it actually is.

Definitely ve but has been freshened up with a carby on it for my track car from the owner before me

5.0 is efi engine...answer can be as vague as the question & yes assumed members ride was a vn but fell into trap of answering

Carb black block with aussie/trimatic bolt pattern gives away what they're from.

If you think it's hsv engine 200kw from sv5000 then should have o port heads & 268 cam unless it's mix n match of parts + no mention being hsv plated car.
