I have just bought a 1 year old SSV ute which has a remote button which flips the exhaust over from standard to horny. I pick it up on Monday so I haven't had a chance to examine it properly. They claimed it cost over $3000 to have it installed. I'd like any info on what it's called and how it works. All I know is that it sounds awesome. Thanks

Thanks. You are right. I contacted Varex and the guy explained how the baffles can be adjusted from standard to noisy remotely. His quote from cat back was $2750 plus fitting, so around $3000 may have been right. Copy this link for a video explaining how it works and how it sounds - pretty good!

be aware though guys strictly speaking anything that allows part of the exhaust to be bypassed is unroadworthy

You guys might want to do some research before forking out for a Varex system.
The power increases are minimal in "open" mode and actually produce LESS power in "closed" mode.

I spose if you just want it for sound, then that's ok, but don't expect any noticeable power gains from it. All bling and no go.
