Crewmans and some utes came with 15x7..... Had a set of those and they had 205's come to think of it.

That certainly may be but I am not talking about utes or crewmans, but sedans and wagons just to clarrify

so you had a set of those wheels not a whole car brand new from factory with those wheels and tyres.........I only work on fact proved to me not hear say and as yet I still dont beleive in Bigfoot or UfO's

Sedans and wagons no doubt came in 15x6 however you didn't specify that in your original post.

All good fun though hey :D

Hey I still dont believe in UFO's and Big foot and untill recently I didn't beleive there was such a thing as a 16x7 steel wheel pre VE but I it was proved to me that there was......but thats a whole other can of worms, I wonder what tyre size there had :rofl2:

Thanks for the input.
Didn't think the pic of the tyres on the police pack VZ looked that bad.
And the VN looks **** hot.
I will get some prices and go from there.

OK so I was wrong about no VZ having 15x6 as a VZ with 6 inch rims is a good thing to forget ( I did indicate I was not totally sure). I do standby my previous that factory fitted 15x7 (chasers) on a VZ came with RE88 tyres in 205/65. All VZ utes with steel wheels had 15x7 rims. Not sure what 16 inch chasers before VE you mean (unless talking space savers or something)

VN V6, nothing special
From personal experience

15x6: best choice is 205/65 or a 215/60, you can get a 225/60 on and it will look pretty bulgy/awesome but I personally do think the bigger sidewall and bulge does affect handling a fair amount on a 6" wide rim.
15x7: 215/60 or a 225/60, either are a good choice

Really all depends what is important to you.
Handling: 215/60.... due to the smaller sidewall and wont have much bulge due to being on a 7" rim
Straight line: 225/60... more contact with the road, that said, a lot of people wont notice the difference in handling

Sidewall sizes
205/65: 133.25mm
215/60: 129mm
225/60: 135mm

also 205's, look pretty "meh" on a 7" wide rim.. Keep them on 6"

I've used 205, 215 and 225's on a variety of 6 and 7" rims, so this is my personal opinion but it's up to you to make your decision :)
