i only have a little canon (Remington Model7 308WIN) , it got some use today
Last time I went to the range I used a .308, prior to that I have only used a .22 and a .22-250.
40 rounds later my shoulder started developing a small bruise, LOL.
Much more fun though.

i think the 22-250 would have given you some idea what the 308 would be like, i have not used one so how did they compare? i don't think that kicks hard but my cousin reckons "it kicks like a mule" haha I used a few magnum rounds in the 12 guage on opening morning and noticed a bruise in the mirror a few days later.

I used the .22-250 ages ago, so its a bit hard to compare, but I would say it was about 2/3 the way towards a .308
When I was using the .308 I was pushing it hard into my shoulder, but gave a mate 1 shot (who has never touched a gun before that day, but had fired about 50 .22 rounds by then) and the look on his face after that shot was priceless. Poor bastard only had it lightly touching his shoulder, even though I told him to press it in.
I went down to the Gold Coast a couple of weeks ago to fire some handguns, I fired a .22 which has about as much kick as its rifle counterpart (aka none), then I shot a .45 Semi, much more fun. Then I fired 2 rounds of a .500 Magnum revolver, needed to change my undies after that. That has some mother-f'in kick.
