VZ SVZ Wagon
Hi All,

Had my VZ SVZ for a few weeks now and have filled up a few times only to get 55 litres maximum into the tank before the nozzle clicks off.
Dash said the fuel level was low (not very low) and 17km's till empty.

I have heard/read the VZ is meant to have a 75 litre tank.

Would be interesting to find out from other VZ drivers on how many litres you can pump into your "75" litre tank.

Cheers,

TikkaT3.

Not so interested in how many more litres i can squeeze in while getting RSI doing it, more so how many litres people can fill from empty.

How many litres will your VZ Calais take from empty?

mine never gets to far below a quarter of a tank but from what I remember your pretty close to the money around the 55-60L mark

They do it so the fuel pump won't burn out from no fuel running through it

I get about 10l more after the first click.

thats cool - personally I'm to afraid of putting in more than I do because I can't stand the smell of fuel if I get it all over my feet from the overflow:rofl:

You shouldn't over fill your tanks guys, even Holden say don't in the manual. Fuel can expand with increasing temperature, so not a good idea to trickle fill. Holden only say it's ok if you intend to drive 50km straight away.

The sedan and wagon do in fact have 75L. However, the fuel gauge will read empty, yet still at least 7-9L left in the tank (in theory). The VT-Z have notoriously bad gauges, you can do two things. Either learn exactly where your gauge reads to how much fuel is *actually* there or have it recalibrated. The lowest I ever got my fuel was 69L to refill, so I had a mere 7L left, it said my range to zero was about 45km.

The tank is definitely 75L, basically, you aren't running it low enough. I started to work out my average fuel usage and from there, use my trip computer to get a more accurate indication of fuel usage. In my VT, my general rule was, 550km is always safe.

VS V6's are 59L I think and V8 is 70/75 not too sure or somewhat, not sure if there's a difference on VZ?

The VS V6 has a 59L tank, the V8 has 73L.
Wagon has 68L and the Ute has 64L.

The VT-Z has 75L tanks as standard.

The VE has 73L interestingly enough.
