Just on 2 weeks to go. They have moved my appointment once again until the day before I go Public health system under pressure and the number of blokes getting the bad news expanding. But I have no choice for now but to accept what they offer... no point going off at anyone when a doctor says he needs time off and every ones appointment times change. So far it has been a different doctor each time I go in and each time the story is the same so I guess it what will be will be.
The trip to America is now so close and it is hard to sleep at night. Still awake at 4 am is an issue and up at 8:30. The days are long and hot in Port Pirie with the shed reaching 53.3c the day of the Adelaide Hills fires. Melting hot!
Snow awaits me in Seattle as well as some great people. Lots of things are planned to pass the 8 weeks with many not costing all that much. A trip to the top of the tallest building being one and a huge Ferris wheel as well. I will get plenty of good photos and will post here as and when I can. I will have access to a PC so should be able to get some great shots.
So I have my travel plan well written out with all the instructions and flight numbers in big writing so I can ask directions and avoid any chance of panic attacks - yes it can happen at any time and without warning so I have to be well prepared - well as prepared as I can be. Crowds can have me a little worried and need to be focused on where I need to be and get there - find some coffee and a corner to sit
This is the first time out of the country for me and feel a little bit like a kid and Christmas... at almost 51 I never expected this sort of thing to ever happen. And after the past year - well lets say I never wish to return to 2014 ever again.
I have not told my direct family I am going - well I have said I am going to Victoria - just not that it is in Canada. They have never shown much interests in what I did on here - the community Just Commodores can be. So it's been here for them to see if they bothered to look. But in there eye's you guys and girls simply don't exist. Their bad luck I say. So when they call my phone asking for car help it will probably be flat.
So don't call my number for those that have it - I will be away for 8 weeks of holiday bliss that will see the next part of my life set up... confirm the direction and maybe a time to spend a few years in America.
To those that helped me get to here - I say thank you and check back here in just over 2 weeks to see some great photos and some great people that are helping me see a part of the world I never thought I would.
Shane.
