Your best bet is to connect to the BCM, which is located underneath the steering wheel column, drivers side, behind the dash (Up and behind the headlight switch).
If you connect here, then the fade function, interior lights On on unlocking, etc will work, and apart from it being a pain in the butt to get to the wiring,
once you have spliced in you can add the factory footwell lamps, factory door lamps, interior door lamp lights, and even puddle lamps if you are feeling saucy.
What you want to connect to is the BCM X2 Connector, Pin 5 for the Supply Voltage, and just use a ground from anywhere.

Pin 12 - White - Headlamp Switch Headlamps On Signal
Pin 13 - Not Used

Pin 17 - Dark Green - Headlamp Switch Headlamps Off Signal
Pin 18 - Pink / Black - Courtesy Lamps Switch Signal

Pin 20 - Light Blue - Tow/Haul Switch Signal
Pin 21 - Brown / Orange - Traction Control Switch Signal
Pin 22 - Dark Green / White - A/T Shift Lock Control Solenoid Supply Voltage
