It could just be a idler or tensioner pulley issue.
Is it worse when the AC is on or when turning the steering wheel?
You could try to remove the accessories belt and run the engine for a short period of time (do it cold, as you won't have the water pump anymore) and see if the noise goes away.
It does not come on as soon as I turn the engine on but pulled up at lights I can hear it at idle.
