Sounds repairable then. Maybe time to hang up the goggles though?

Hehehehehe, his cardiac specialist has been on me for years to get him to retire!
When he told me he couldn't lift the barge anymore, I told him to put it away, and to use the Redline.

Some how, I don't think he misses the bike too much...

THANK YOU ALL for the most entertaining thread I've ever read! It was like reading a great novel that you can't put down! (crap I'm late for work now).

My thoughts on all of this:

I love my VF! It does every thing I need.
It still has no rattles or squeaks (2013 model), although it's only done 60,000 kMs.

I usually keep my cars for a long time i.e. more than 10 years.

I had my LJ torana for 30 years until some numb-nuts stoved in the back of it. (I stupidly stopped at a stop sign!)

When I bought the VF ute the other car I was considering was an EH ute for about the same money!

The only car I've ever owned that wasn't a Holden was, surprisingly, a Hyundai! It was an FX coupe which was a great car, Just lacking in the power department.

Please keep up the entertaining posts!

Who designed the Stinger?
Its profile looks similar to an Aston Martin Rapide???

Geoff6666 I agree with you! Very interesting & entertaining thread. Sad news to hear about the LJ. I used to have an LJ & loved it, such a fun little car. The VF, like yours still has no rattles or squeaks. 26000ks, looks & smells like new, hope it stays that way because I like keeping cars for a long time, I've had the VT for 18 years now

+1 for no rattles or squeaks in my 2013 VF Redline. I absolutely love this car!

Guy named Peter Schreyer, worked mostly for VAG prior to KIA.
I think the most notable design of his was the original Audi CC (which was actually fairly funky/cool in original form).
From what I read he’s become a director & they’ve hired another European as design chief to try & crack the Chinese market (dunno why, they only needed to add lots more gold trim).

Kia could have saved a bucket load of money heeding that spot on observation  :p

Liking a Kia I’d imagine will be almost as painful as licking the white dog ****.

Thats a similar attitude that many BMW owners seem to exhibit at times...

The stinger is just a car with no obviously bad aesthetics to it. Many even say it’s a looker, unlike the droopy Ford Falcon that received universal condemnation while it’s chief designer received the sack. But now that Jag and Merc’s have played with similar elements of that look, it isn’t so offensive. Go figure o_O

It’s just badge snobbery, often seen from those who would consider themselves achievers because they bought a BMW or some other brand that floats their boat. Poor form really

I think Kia’s, just like other brands, have both good looking and pig ugly cars and the stinger is a looker ;)

Me, I know many people that have bought a Kia and are rather happy with their choice. Would they prefer a half a dozen luxury cars... yes... but some say they haven’t found that missing $50M Tatts ticket they swore they bought :p

I’m sure if someone gave you a free stinger v6tt you’d be over the moon :D If that happened to me, i’d park it next to my Motorsport :)
