Hey gurus, just in the middle of installing my amp to power my front and rear speakers. I will post all specs below. My speakers have come with 20 awg wire and my amp wiring kit has come with 16 awg, so should I run new 16 awg wire to my speakers or can I still use the 20? and what are the benefits of using the 16 over 20?
Next is I'm going to use the multimeter method to set my gains, I see some people have their headunits turned all the way up and some people only go 3/4 of the way. If I do it with the volume all the way up does that mean when I have music playing and I have it on full there should be no distortion?
Amp Pioneer GM-D8604
1200W Max Mono
4 x 100W (4Ω)
4 x 150W (2Ω)
2 x 300W (4Ω bridge)
2 x 250W (2Ω bridge)
Front speakers Alpine SPR-50C
Peak power 330w
RMS power 110w
4Ω
Rear speakers Alpine SPS-610G
Peak power 280w
RMS power 80w
4Ω
Because my speakers are rated at 110w and the amp is 100w per channel should I bridge my fronts together over 2 channels to bring the power up?
Cheers
