Is it possible to wire a Kicker 12" CVR DVC 2ohm sub to a ZX 400.1 Kicker amp at 2ohms. Or can I only have the sub running at 4ohms???

I'm guessing I have to change my sub to a DVC 4ohm to have it running at 2ohms??? Is this correct?

The amp isn't 1 ohm stable so you'll have to run the voice coils in series to make it 4ohms. You'll get 200wrms to your sub so its not pushing it to its full potential but it should sound alright until you get a better amp.

Ruso, one of them really needs to go.... You can...

a, Get a 4ohm DVC sub
b, Get a cheaper smaller amp that is 1ohm stable

Basically all you need is an amp that will run 400 into 1ohm or 400 into 4ohms. Personally, I would be swapping out the sub IF you can.

There is also the option of running it at 4ohms like mentioned above and then using a second 400.1 (same model and all the jazz) and using each amp to power an individual coil

thanks all. I've gone and swapped it for a 4ohm DVC sub. Just waiting for it to arrive.
