Provided there is minimal rust and the 308 is strong sounds like a good deal (finding an HZ that isn't a complete **** heap is hard these days)

308's are still the desired model (the 253 was like the starfire of the V8 world, you will spend a small fortune in fuel to go from 0-100 in around 45 seconds)

I say go for it, but I find it hard to believe someone would want to trade a good HZ 308 for a VS wagon......need some pics of this thing.

Car won't start. Drove it to work, went to park it. It stalled when turning/stopping. Went to start again and no go. Just turns over.
Can hear the fuel pump prime when on your knees and head down.
I'm putting it down to a weak fuel pump or hall effect sensor. Have yet to check though.
